1938
Dwight Grimes starts Puritan as a retail bakery in Ocean Park, CA and was the original McDonald's provider.
1957
Tom Grimes joined Puritan and brought on an iconic Southern California restaurant as a customer.
1965
John Markulis joined Puritan as partner to Tom Grimes developing our close connection to the Greek restaurant community.
1982
John Markulis and Tom Grimes dedicate new 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Carson, CA.
1994
Matt Grimes (3rd generation) and John John Markulis (2nd generation) join Puritan.
1999
The Grimes and Markulis families add 20,000 sq. ft. to the facility in Carson, CA.
2002
Puritan begins serving all six locations of The Habit Burger Grill in Santa Barbara, CA
2015
Added two production lines and increased manufacturing facility to over 100,000 sq. ft.
2023
Switched to SQF certification, creating new sales channel opportunities.
